Dapoxetine effective in lengthening the duration of intercourse
The conclusions of a laboratory trial (August 2006) have found that the dapoxetine, prescribed
for premature ejaculation sufferers is not only reasonably safe but also effective.
University of Minnesota researchers found that effective Dapoxetine lengthened the duration of intercourse
up to four times. Subjects taking this drug increases the average period of sex from less than a
minute to three minutes and 19 seconds.
Treatment for premature ejaculation means counselling and taking effective anti-depressants medication from
dapoxetine's family of drugs - selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). Because these are
not yet specifically licensed for the condition, some experts have raised concerns regarding these
drugs, as they carry a potential risk of side effects including skin reactions, psychiatric problems
and changes in bodyweight.
While dapoxetine is an selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, has been specifically tailored for
premature ejaculation and by consequence it is not as strong as ones used to treat depression.
It is a fact that during trials Dapoxetine also rised patients' perceptions regarding overall
impression of change in condition, such as of control over ejaculation and satisfaction with sexual
intercourse.
