dapoxetine trial investigations

Dapotexine is still under investigations

Dapoxetine is a SSRI drug with a short half-life. That means the patients gets it quickly in plasma and after 1-2 hours the plasma levels are normal again.

The main consequences of its short life are:
  • patients can take this medication on demand, rather than having a constant intake;
  • dapoxetine does not accumulate in the body and do not cause major side effects;
One big concern regarding the Dapoxetine trials was the relatively high percentage of subjects reporting nausea as an adverse side effect. According to all studies, about 20% of men complained of nausea as a side effect of the Dapotexine medication.

Despite of this high percentage, the good news is very, very few people had serious nausea. And the very important is that during trials, Dapoxetine has proved its good potential to provide treatment options for men with premature ejaculation.
